A little bit about Preserved Gardens and me, Anne

Hi, I'm Anne Post. I live, garden and collect flowers in South Eastern Michigan, where I was born and have lived my whole life.

I'm truly blessed; I have a great husband who is also my best friend and soul mate. I am proud to be "mom" to two sons, a daughter, a stepson and stepdaughter, all adults now. I'm "grandma" to six young grandsons and a granddaughter, Anne Post, Preserved Gardens pressed flower resources"sister" of three brothers and three sisters, and "daughter" of the best mom in the world! I enjoy two amazingly fun Siberian Husky's who love me dearly and a full, lush garden surrounding my home.

I love gardening, flower pressing, drying and preservation. Other hobbies and pastimes include stained glass, paper making, soap and candle making, working on my website, reading very old books, and riding my bike. My priority in life is spending time with family, most importantly my husband Dave and our grandchildren. We love exploring parks together, among other things.

I've loved flowers since I was a very little girl, learning first from my Grandma, and then from my mom and Grandpa.

A Post, learningI've worked with different techniques of preserving flowers over the years, including air drying, silica, microwave, glycerin, freeze drying and pressing. I started putting together Preserved Gardens in late 1991 when I started freeze-drying flowers and foliage. I always have more ideas than time and never stop learning and experimenting.

The purpose of this website is to share much of what I've learned about floral preservation over the years. The emphasis of this site is on providing information in the area of pressed floral arts along with a little about other methods of floral preservation.

Who would have thought it possible that a tiny little flower could preoccupy a person so completely that there simply wasn't room for any other thought.  - Sophie Scholl

I confess, I don't update this site as much as I'd like to since a careless truck driver changed my life a couple of years ago. Still I have a lot to share and remain committed to growing this site to be the best resource it can possibly be.
